Driving Directions

These directions will be most useful to those coming from outside the Portland area. They direct you to Parking Structure 3, which is further from Smith Memorial Union than Parking Structures 1 & 2, but consistently has spaces available. The following will provide directions to Smith Memorial Union from any location via Google Maps.

From the South (on I-5 headed north)

• As you approach downtown Portland, exit onto I-405 N
• Stay on I-405 North only for ~0.5 mi; stay to the right where Rt-26 West exits
• At the Rt-26 entrance exit at 12th Ave
• Parking Structure 3 will be on your left immediately after the exit

From the North (on I-5 headed south)

• As you approach downtown Portland, exit onto I-405 S
• After ~2 mi, take the Burnside St exit (this puts you on 15th Ave)
• Take a left at Alder, Salmon, or Yamhill to cross over I-405
• Take a right at 13th Ave
• Proceed until you reach Parking Structure 3 (just past Market St)

From the West (on Rt-26 headed east)

• As you approach downtown Portland stay in the middle lane
• Proceed onto the Market St exit ramp, but turn right at the end of the ramp (onto 13th Ave)
• Parking Structure 3 will be on your immediate left

Once at PSU

From Parking Structure 3, walk east toward the Park Blocks at the center of campus. Smith Memorial Union is one block to south (to the right) once you reach the far side of the Park Blocks.
